Um Último Casulo
Ufthak leva a mão ao punho de sua lâmina embainhada.
Várias aranhas recuam, mas a enorme fêmea se mantém firme, encarando o insolente comandante orc.
Por um longo momento, há um silêncio completo.
Finalmente, ela tagarela baixinho para uma das aranhas próximas. O lacaio se move rapidamente para dentro do covil para arrastar o casulo de Bilbo em direção ao portal.
Enquanto a aranha arrasta o último casulo diante de Ufthak, uma pequena criatura magra sai das sombras, gritando "Precioso!" como um animal moribundo. Ela envolve seus braços em volta do pescoço grosso de Ufthak e morde sua orelha direita. Sangue negro se espalha, e o rugido furioso de Ufthak se junta ao lamento metálico da criatura.
Os gritos ecoam pelas árvores e teias de aranha.

One Last Cocoon
Ufthak moves a hand to the pommel of his sheathed blade.
Several spiders flinch back, but the huge female stands her ground, glowering down at the insolent Orc commander.
For a long moment, there is a complete silence.
Finally, she chitters quietly at one of the nearby spiders. The minion moves quickly into the lair to drag Bilbo´s cocoon towards the gateway.
As the spider drags the last cocoon before Ufthak, a small skinny creature files out of the shadows, screeching "Precious!" like a dying animal. It wraps its arms around Ufthak´s thick neck and bites his right ear. Black gore spills, and Ufthak´s furious roar joins the creature´s tinny wail.
The screams echo through the trees and cobwebs.
